Coeur Rochester Inc, a mine located in the Oreana/Rye Patch area near Lovelock has been wanting to reopen and expand, according to recent news blurbs in various publications. Apparently the holdup has been BLM's demand for a full environment statement. Now, upon Gibbons request (see local news), BLM appears to have agreed to allow the mine to conduct just an environmental assessment, which takes significantly less time. The project is expected to create at least 200 new jobs.
